1 min read

The March 2024 edition of CAM Magazine features the grand re-opening of the Ford House pool, lagoon, and surrounding landscape in Grosse Pointe Shores, MI. Situated on the historic 87-acre property once owned by Edsel Ford, son of Henry Ford, this restoration project aims to revive the original landscape design by renowned Danish landscape architect and conservationist Jens Jensen. After nearly 100 years, the landscape required essential repairs to recapture its former splendor. Drawing inspiration from archival photos dating back to the 1930s, the team is utilizing cutting-edge technology and construction methods to ensure the rehabilitation endures for another century.

The following companies participated in the revitalization of the Ford House pool, lagoon, and surrounding landscape:

Owner: Ford House
Landscape Architecture: Albert Kahn Associates
Masonry Restoration: National Restoration
Architectural Conservation: Building Arts and Conservation
Conservation Consulting: Kreilick Conservation
Civil Engineer: PEA Group
