Gallagher Creek Park Officially Opens!

Oakland Township held its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Gallagher Creek Park on May 23, 2019. The ceremony included representatives from Oakland Township, park volunteers, community residents, as well as members of the PEA team. Located at 2780 Silverbell Road in Rochester, MI, this 15-acre park is the newest neighborhood park to open in Oakland Township. More is yet to come! Later on this summer the Parks and Recreation department have exciting plans to add native wildflower gardens throughout the park.

In 2017, PEA was engaged by the Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Department to develop plans for park improvements. Improvements included improved parking lot drainage, a new looped trail, a playground, a picnic pavilion, wooded enclosure for portable restrooms, a pathway connection to the proposed Silverbell Road path, and landscape amenities such as benches, trash cans, and signage.
