Meet our Interns: Part 1

The interns of summer 2021 are here! Throughout our various offices, interns will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in land surveying, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, and landscape architecture. We are excited to introduce to you three of our nine interns. Today, instead of saying TGIF, we’re saying TGFI – Thank Goodness For Interns!

Brendan Varga

My name is Brendan Varga and I am returning for my second summer as an intern with PEA Group. I am going into my fifth year of civil engineering at Michigan Tech and plan to graduate next summer. I decided to pursue civil engineering as I enjoy the field and how many different areas it covers in the world we live in. Overall, I find the variety and the flexibility that civil engineering brings – I am not restricted to the same project over and over. I cannot wait to spend more time working on projects and getting to know everyone better. Last summer due to Covid, my time as an intern was cut short, so, I am looking forward to getting the full experience of the PEA Group internship program.

Logan Drake-Soltes

My name is Logan Drake-Soltes and I am returning for a second summer internship with PEA Group. I am currently a senior at Ferris State University studying surveying engineering with an expected graduation in December 2021. I decided to pursue this field due to the different routes you can go with having a surveying engineering degree. I like the variety of it – not doing the same task or being in the same place every day – it’s always changing. I also enjoy being able to work outside. I am looking forward to learning more about my career path and the people and connections that I will make through this internship.

Alexis Willing

I’m Alexis Willing. I am a Senior at Lawrence Technological University studying civil engineering. I would love to make a difference in my community through engineering. Civil engineering allows for me to positively impact many different areas, which is why I enjoy it so much. PEA Group is my third internship since I have been in college and it has been my favorite so far! I am looking to further my knowledge in as many different aspects as possible with the rotational program PEA Group is offering.
