“PEA Group is ecstatic to welcome LSG into our growing company,” says James Butler, PEA Group President. “Their exceptional portfolio of work will further define our footprint in the Lansing region. This acquisition has been a great start to 2022 and will set a positive outlook in the year ahead.”

Connected by our similar cultures of quality and responsive service, PEA Group is committed to fostering the existing relationships LSG has with both its clients and the community and looks forward to further establishing our new, united team in the Greater Lansing area.

Founded in 1994 as Ledy Survey Group, LSG originally served as the land surveying division of the Ledy Companies, a multi-discipline engineering and architectural firm. Douglas Richardson and Alan Boyer served as principals of LSG at its founding. In 2010, LSG and the civil engineering division of Ledy Design Group merged to become LSG Engineers and Surveyors, Inc. The merger provided LSG the opportunity to continue serving long-time clients and complete on-going projects.

Over the years, LSG has amassed an extensive portfolio of county drain work. Their first county drain project, Heath Drain in Ingham County, was completed in 1999. In 2002, they completed their first intercounty drain project, the County Line lntercounty Drain between Eaton & Ingham Counties. LSG has gone on to provide engineering and surveying services for Drain and Water Resources Commissioners and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) in more than 20 counties across Michigan’s Lower peninsula. In 2016, LSG, as well as MDARD and the Drain Commissioners from Ingham, Clinton, and Shiawassee Counties, was the recipient of the MACDC 2016 Innovation and Excellence Honorable Mention for the Corcoran lntercounty Drain maintenance project.

Other notable projects completed by LSG include AgroLiquid Headquarters, Sparrow Plaza Herbert Herman Cancer Center, Cole Academy Charter School, Webberville Safe Routes to Schools, Ingham County Animal Shelter, Comerica Bank – Jackson, Red Cedar Mixed-Use Development, and Sparrow Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center and North Tower Expansion.

PEA Group’s Lansing team will be led by Chris Beland, PS. Chris holds a BS in Survey Engineering and an MBA in Executive Business Management. He is a Michigan licensed Professional Surveyor and is a member of both Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors and National Society of Professional Surveyors. As the Regional Director of Survey Services – Brighton & Lansing, Chris oversees the success and development of both the Brighton and Lansing survey group. We are confident in Chris’ capabilities to successfully continue the legacy that LSG has established.

The firm will continue to be located at its current office at 3135 Pine Tree Rd Suite D, Lansing, MI 48911.
