Turtle Woods Preserve: Troy Michigan’s First County Park

1 min read

Troy Michigan’s first county park is expected to open in fall 2027! The new park is a rare ecological landscape, home to one of the highest concentrations of biodiversity in the region within a lakeplain prairie ecosystem, a rare habitat unique to the Great Lakes region. Today, less than 1% of this landscape still exists!

Turtle Woods provides inclusive recreational opportunities, strengthens connections to surrounding neighborhoods, and expands access to areas that were once limited. Visitors can explore a natural water feature, move along accessible boardwalks and pathways, or wander rustic trails that invite both physical activity and quiet restoration.

PEA Group is proud to have played a role in this project! For more information, read the WDIV Local 4 News/ClickOnDetroit article here.
