Gas Transmission Upgrade

Southeast Michigan

PEA Group provided land surveying and geotechnical engineering services, while ASTI Environmental, a division of PEA Group, provided ecological and environmental consulting services for a confidential client’s gas transmission upgrade.

The project involved replacing approximately 800 feet of pipeline, which was necessary to address an existing gas transmission line upgrade within a wetland, creating constructability challenges. To minimize environmental impacts, the project included a proposed Horizontal Directional Drill installation beneath the wetland system.

The project scope included topographic and boundary surveys, a geotechnical investigation, soil erosion permitting, construction staking, and an as-built survey. ASTI helped navigate environmental requirements while protecting sensitive natural resources through threatened and endangered species reporting, a natural features inventory, and wetland delineation and permitting.
