McLaren Health Care engaged PEA Group to develop a large healing garden as part of the McLaren Health Care Village.

The Approach

Part of an expansive medical campus, the garden includes two fountains, pathways, sculptures, four boardwalks crossing wetlands and a small creek, a labyrinth, several sitting areas, a social space, an area for quiet contemplation, and lush gardens with thousands of ornamental trees, shrubs, and perennials. Sustainable design features include native plantings, use of natural drainage systems and an innovative irrigation system to reduce water use.

This project has been completed and is the largest healing garden in Michigan.
