PEA Group was responsible for the civil engineering of New Hope Housing Harrisburg, a mixed-use, transit-oriented community. This property is the largest single-room occupancy (SRO) building New Hope Housing has developed to date. It was selected as Houston Business Journal’s 2019 Landmark Award Winner for Community Impact, as well as a 2018 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Houston design award winner. Additionally, this project achieved LEED Platinum® certification.
New Hope Housing Harrisburg houses residents of low income and provides them with an array of new, advantageous opportunities that would otherwise be unfeasible. One such opportunity afforded to residents is the ability to access all parts of the city through the use of the METRO light rail station that is located near the housing development. With 175 SRO studio apartments, Harrisburg additionally features 5,000 square feet of shared common space for robust enrichment programming, 4,000 square feet of retail space, and 7,000 square feet of office space that is now home to New Hope Housing’s corporate headquarters.
