Oakland Hills Country Club Redevelopment

Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

The Oakland Hills clubhouse and maintenance facility reconstruction in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, is a landmark project, restoring and reimagining the historic site after the original 1922 clubhouse was lost to fire. In 2024, PEA Group provided surveying, landscape design, engineering, and construction staking services. The project involves collaboration with the architect, country club membership, renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse, and general contractor, Clark Construction to bring the vision to life. Key improvements include a new clubhouse, greens and grounds facilities, a driving range, and expanded parking.

PEA Group’s site work enhances both functionality and aesthetics, seamlessly integrating with Hanse’s golf course vision. By incorporating two underground detention systems, an above-ground detention pond, and significant berming, our team optimized stormwater management but also preserved the course’s natural beauty and playability.

A key component of our work involved rerouting an Oakland County drain and a county combined sewer, critical infrastructure improvements that enhance drainage efficiency and long-term site sustainability. Our team navigated the site’s challenging topography, ensuring smooth grading and constructability while minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, we successfully secured all necessary permits from Bloomfield Township, keeping the project on track and in compliance with local regulations.

Throughout construction, maintaining uninterrupted access for members was a top priority. Through careful planning and coordination with all stakeholders, we have ensured minimal disruption while delivering essential infrastructure improvements.

With progress well underway, the project is steadily moving toward completion, ensuring a
high-quality outcome that enhances both the golf course experience and overall site performance.
