The Charter Township of Redford is building a new recreation and wellness center on a 3.48-acre vacant site. PEA Group is providing civil engineering services for the project. The center will be approximately 31,000 square feet and will include recreational areas, classrooms, a therapeutic swimming pool, a workout facility, an indoor walking track, and a fieldhouse with basketball and pickleball courts. The project will also include an outdoor amphitheater, with the building serving as the stage and backdrop. The excess on-site topsoil will be shaped to create an elevated seating area for watching concerts and performances.
With a budget of $19.5 million, the project aims to provide a state-of-the-art facility that will house the Township’s Parks and Recreation programs and offer space for community meetings and events. The center will be located at 14701 Beech Daly Road in Redford Township, Michigan, on the west side of Beech Daly Road between Five Mile and Schoolcraft Roads.
The PEA Group team is currently providing construction documents for the development.
