PEA Group assisted the Friends of the Rouge with developing amenities for the Lower Rouge River water trail between Dearborn and Detroit River.
Our team investigated the waterway to determine optimum locations and methods for wayfinding, rest areas, points of interest, and accessible kayak launches. PEA Group developed a report that defined mile marker locations, identified points of interest, and defined emergency signage.
Additionally, our team developed concepts and cost opinions for three new kayak launch locations that included amenities such as picnic areas, parking, and kayak storage. The project report was used to generate additional funding for the implementation of the improvements. PEA Group is currently working towards the development of three new kayak launches and rest areas along the river.
