Woodward Corners by Beaumont

Royal Oak, Michigan

Following the demolition of the former Northwood Plaza shopping center, Woodward Corners transformed the vacant lot into a 120,000-square-foot outdoor retail center for the community. Woodward Corners includes six buildings and a five-story hotel.

PEA Group worked with Beaumont to provide Beaumont with a Planned Unit Development (PUD) site plan approval. Our team prepared a topographic survey of the site that included extensive underground infrastructure, completed feasibility studies, and conceptual site planning leading up to PUD plan development. The development team worked closely with the City, holding several meetings and workshops through several iterations of the site layout to arrive at a development that the owners, operators, tenants, and community would be proud of. In addition to the PUD approval, our team completed the full site civil engineering design, including parking, stormwater management of a 90,000 cubic foot underground detention storage system, and public road improvements to Woodward Avenue, 13 Mile Road, and Coolidge Highway. PEA Group is also providing additional design services for the Hyatt Hotel development, which is currently being developed.

Talk about location! This new outdoor retail center is right off the famous Woodward Ave, where the Woodward Dream Cruise takes place every August. Now open, residents, Beaumont Hospital employees, and patients and their families have a new grocery store, fitness center options, and restaurants to visit.
