Please join us in welcoming these exceptional interns as we wrap up our 2025 spotlight series. Over the past few weeks, we’ve introduced all 14 interns, each bringing their own unique strengths to the team. We look forward to a rewarding summer ahead for both our interns and our entire team.

We’re ending the week with TGFI — Thank Goodness for Interns!

Hailey Douglas | Surveying | Auburn Hills, MI (Welcome back!)

My name is Hailey, and I am a junior at Michigan Technological University studying geospatial engineering. I love being a geospatial engineering student because you get to meet so many amazing people. This is my second-year interning at PEA Group and I am so excited to be back! This year I am excited to expand my knowledge of boundary surveys and become better at construction surveys. I am so excited to work with all of the amazing people here!

Austin Waller | Civil Engineering | Lansing, MI

My name is Austin Waller, and I am going into my senior year at Michigan State University studying civil engineering. I chose to pursue civil engineering to be able to apply my knowledge and creativity to real world problems while helping others at the same time. I really enjoy being a civil engineering major as it allows me to look at the problems faced by the entirety of a society and come up with innovative and effective solutions which will help to improve the everyday lives of society as a whole. This is my first internship, so I didn’t know what to expect coming into it or where I wanted to work, but I chose PEA Group due to their well-structured internship program with many unique opportunities, their impressive project history, and their clear desire to train me to become a successful civil engineer. I am looking forward to being able to apply my ideas to all sorts of unique engineering problems while advancing my career and learning every day. A fun fact about me is that I used to be an all-state swimmer in high school but since going to Michigan State I have started running half marathons instead.

Zach Clatterbuck | Civil Engineering | Lansing, MI

My name is Zach Clatterbuck, I am a junior at MSU. I started pursuing civil engineering to design transportation routes and I love how many options I have for future career choices. This is my first internship, I wanted to work with PEA Group to get experience in multiple fields of civil engineering including surveying, inspection and design. I look forward to the friendly colleagues and the learning experiences I will have. Fun fact – I build a race car and rock climb for fun.

Blake Farmer | Surveying | Lansing, MI (Welcome back!)

My name is Blake Farmer, I am a senior at Ferris State University studying surveying engineering. I am pursuing survey engineering because I like to work outside. I also enjoy the challenges of engineering. This is my second internship at PEA Group. I was attracted to PEA Group by the many surveying team members that are active in surveying societies like NSPS, MSPS, and the young surveyors’ network. I am looking forward to getting more real work experience this summer. My fun fact is that I play rugby.

Maren Anderson | Civil Engineering | Auburn Hills & Washington Township, MI

My name is Maren Anderson, and I am a junior at Michigan State studying civil engineering. I’m pursuing engineering because I always accelerated in STEM classes, specifically math. Civil is my specification, because I want to design automotive tracks or airplane runways. This is my first internship and I’m excited to gain experience in the field. I look forward to working with a company that has such a diverse clientele, that it allows me to explore many opportunities within this career.  A fun fact about me is I love chess and play every day.
